These terms apply to your use of www.indiarecycles.org. By using the site, you accept them. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

About us

India Recycles is a non-profit organisation based in Gujarat, India. We collect donated clothing and give it a second life through community sales, thrift sales, upcycling and livelihood programmes.

Using this site

You may read, share and link to anything here. Please do not use the site to break the law, to harm or impersonate anyone, to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to it, or to scrape it in a way that degrades service for others.

Clothing donations

Items you drop at a collection point or hand to our team become the property of India Recycles. We decide how each item is best used: resale at a community or thrift sale, upcycling through Re-Vibe, or recycling. Items that cannot be used in any of those ways are handled through our zero waste process.

Please donate only clean, wearable items. We cannot accept anything spoiled, wet, torn beyond repair or otherwise unusable. We cannot return donated items once they are collected, and we cannot guarantee that a particular item will reach a particular person.

Financial donations

Financial contributions are voluntary and, as a rule, non-refundable, because funds are committed to programmes quickly. If you donated in error or were charged twice, email us within 7 days and we will look into a refund in good faith.

Payments are processed by regulated payment providers and your own bank. Tax benefits under Section 80G apply where eligible and where we have your details to issue a receipt. We are not able to give you tax advice.

Volunteering, internships and partnerships

Submitting a form is an expression of interest, not an offer or a guarantee of a place. Anyone representing India Recycles at a sale, drive or camp is expected to treat the communities we serve with dignity and to follow the instructions of the team on the ground.

Impact figures and the calculator

Impact numbers on this site, including those produced by the impact calculator, are estimates based on published averages for garment weight, carbon, water and energy. They are meant to give a sense of scale, and should not be treated as audited or scientific measurements.

Our content

The text, photographs, logos and design on this site belong to India Recycles or to the people who created them for us. You may share and quote them with credit. Please ask before using them commercially. Partner logos shown on the site belong to those organisations.

Links to other sites

Where we link to a partner, a payment provider or a news article, we are not responsible for the content or the practices of that site.

No warranty

We keep this site accurate and available as best we can, but we provide it as it is. Details such as sale dates, drop locations and programme information can change. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of the site or from reliance on information on it.

Changes

We may update these terms. The current version always lives on this page with the date it was last changed at the top.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Gujarat have jurisdiction over any dispute.
