Community Sale

Weekly clothing sales in slum communities, priced from ₹10 to ₹50, so families buy with dignity rather than receive a handout.

What it is

Dignity, not charity

Every week, India Recycles organises clothing sales in urban slum communities across Ahmedabad and Vadodara. Items are priced between ₹10 and ₹50, making quality clothing affordable for families who need it most.

By charging a small price rather than giving clothes away, our customers choose what they want and pay for it. That keeps their sense of responsibility and dignity intact. These are organised sale events, not handouts.

The process

How a Community Sale runs

  1. 1Sorted, wearable stock is set aside by volunteers after donations are cleaned and categorised.
  2. 2We fix a date with a community leader in the slum and spread the word locally.
  3. 3Volunteers set up the stall and lay out clothes by size, type and season.
  4. 4Families browse and buy what they actually want at ₹10 to ₹50 an item.
  5. 5Every rupee collected goes back into our health, education and livelihood programs.
  6. 6Anything unsold moves on to a Thrift Sale, or to Re-Vibe and Zero Waste if it cannot be worn again.
